Masterclass
Stevan's Masterclass in Confident Communication.
A short video series inside Minivox on what it takes to find your voice and use it, from someone who had to learn the hard way. Every episode ends with a spoken task, so what a pupil learns becomes work their teacher hears and the school keeps.
What it is
Confident communication, taught by someone who found it late.
Stevan Parkin grew up finding school hard to speak in. He found his voice later, in front of an audience, and has spent years helping young people do the same. The masterclass is that experience made practical: why speaking up feels risky, what confident communicators actually do differently, and how to practise it in a way that is safe enough to keep going.
It lives inside Minivox. A teacher sets an episode for a class the way they set any task; pupils watch it, then record their own response to the task at the end; the teacher hears the work, approves a first response and keeps it. [Number of episodes, running time and the age range to be confirmed by Stevan.] It is included with Minivox for every school on the platform. [Confirm: free with Minivox.]
What pupils take away
Four things, all of them usable the same day.
Why nerves are normal
What happens when you speak to a room, and why the pupils who look confident are mostly the ones who have practised.
Making a point
One thing to say, said clearly: the shape of a two-minute explanation, a pitch or an answer in an interview.
Voice and delivery
Pace, clarity and pause. Hearing yourself back, and why that is the fastest way to improve.
A task after every episode
Record it, in your own words, for your teacher and your class. The masterclass is not something to watch; it is something to do.
[Internal: replace these four with the actual episode titles once the series is complete.]
Who it is for
Any group that has to speak and would rather not.
Year 6 before transition. Year 9 before options. Year 11 before interviews. A school council, a debating club, a sports team, a cohort on a programme. It works as a stand-alone unit over a few weeks, or as the way a school starts using Minivox: episode one is a teacher's first task.
For teachers
No preparation. One click to set.
Each episode comes with its task, success criteria and a suggested way to respond, so a teacher who has never taught speaking can run it. [Confirm against what is built.] If you would like to see it before your school joins, book a demo and we will show you an episode and what comes back.
[Internal: Stevan also delivers the masterclass live for schools and programmes; add a paragraph and a form here if that is to be offered and priced.]
